With over 30 years experience working in regional gaming, Les McMackin has emerged as an industry leader. McMackin, who has held executive positions on a property and corporate level, has a diverse background in the areas of marketing, finance, operations, as well as development. As a result, during the past several years, McMackin has become a sought-after advisor and consultant working with a diverse group of organizations throughout the industry.
McMackin served as the corporate senior vice president of marketing and a member of the senior executive committee for Isle of Capri Casinos Inc.,(ISLE –NASDAQ), a billion-dollar- revenue gaming company with properties throughout the United States, the Bahamas and the United Kingdom. In this role, McMackin was responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of the company’s marketing and communications initiatives. As well, he was instrumental in the successful development of domestic and international growth of Isle, the creation and growth of the company’s four brands, and a member of the team that grew the Isle from a four-property company with a market value of under $50 million to 15 properties and market value approaching $1 billion.
During his tenure with Isle, McMackin also served as vice president and general manager of the Isle of Capri Casino Entertainment Resort in Lula, Miss., where he led a staff over 1,000 employees, managed a 40 acre property, with two casinos, two hotels (486 rooms) and five restaurants, generating in excess of $100MM in gaming revenue. He also held the positions of senior director of corporate marketing, and director of database marketing for the parent company.
Before joining Isle, McMackin spent several years in the Atlantic City market, holding positions at Caesars Atlantic City and Trump Castle. McMackin also spent many years in the banking industry as a financial and credit analyst. He has been licensed or found suitable in numerous jurisdictions including New Jersey, Mississippi, Florida, and the Bahamas.
McMackin holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Temple University, Philadelphia, and a master’s of business administration in finance with a concentration in marketing from LaSalle University, Philadelphia.
